This full-day excursion will take you on an exciting journey to the heartland of Herzegovina, one of the warmest regions in the Balkans, where you will have the chance to immerse yourself in the local traditions that have evolved over the centuries.
Our first stop will be in Konjic, a small town that can fairly be described as the gateway into Herzegovina. We will have a short visit to the old town and pass by the Ottoman Bridge which leads us straight to our next destination. Afterwards, our next stop is Jablanica where we will see the man-made lake of Jablanicko Jezero and we will learn about the famous WWII Neretva battle.
Then our next destination is a stunning up-hill town called Pocitelj which had a strategic fort in the Ottoman times. Other sights of interest include the local clock tower and a mosque.
Blagaj is next on the list, where you will have the opportunity to spiritually enlighten yourself with the presence of the mystic dervish orders (Blagaj Tekke) that Herzegovina is famous for. Buna river spring also awaits you which is one of the most sparkling, pure and mineral-enriched sources of fresh water in the whole of Europe.
Finally, we will reach the gem of Herzegovina, none other than the enchanting town of Mostar which took its name from its famous UNSECO protected bridge, the Stari Most. You will also have the chance to bargain with the local vendors at the old market. Throughout our journey we will be followed by the emerald-green river of Neretva, which prides itself as the coldest river on the planet according to Science Blurtit.

Drove from Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina for a day. The views along the way were amazing. The town of Mostar is small but beautiful with historic architecture and rich history. My driver/tour guide, Stefan, from Day Trips was a professional, safe driver and knowledgeable guide. He answered every question and shared so much about this beautiful town and some along the way that my trip exceeded expectations.
