Tour overview

Join us on the Mostar day tour from Sarajevo and explore the heart of Herzegovina, a region known for its warm climate, rich culture, and centuries-old heritage. The tour begins with a visit to Konjic, home to a famous Ottoman bridge, and continues through Jablanica, where you’ll learn about the pivotal WWII Neretva battle and admire views of Jablanica Lake.

We then head to the hillside town of Počitelj, known for its Ottoman-era fortress and oriental architecture, followed by a visit to Blagaj, where you’ll see the iconic Dervish Tekke and the source of the Buna River, one of Europe’s purest springs.

The highlight of the tour is the UNESCO-listed town of Mostar, where you’ll cross the world-famous Old Bridge (Stari Most) and experience the charm of the old bazaar. All along the journey, you’ll follow the emerald-green Neretva River, considered one of the coldest rivers on the planet.

Itinerary

Konjic

Our first stop will be in Konjic, a small town that can fairly be described as the gateway into Herzegovina. We will have a short visit to the old town and pass by the Ottoman Bridge which leads us straight to our next destination.

Jablanica

Afterwards, our next stop is Jablanica, where we will see the man-made lake of Jablanicko Jezero, and we will learn about the famous WWII Neretva battle.

Pocitelj

Then our next destination is a stunning uphill town called Pocitelj, which had a strategic fort in the Ottoman times. Other sights of interest include the local clock tower and a mosque.

Blagaj

Blagaj is next on the list, where you will have the opportunity to spiritually enlighten yourself with the presence of the mystic dervish orders (Blagaj Tekke) that Herzegovina is famous for. Buna River spring also awaits you, which is one of the most sparkling, pure and mineral-enriched sources of fresh water in the whole of Europe.

Mostar

Finally, we will reach the gem of Herzegovina, none other than the enchanting town of Mostar, which took its name from its famous UNESCO-protected bridge, the Stari Most. You will also have the chance to bargain with the local vendors at the old market. Throughout our journey, we will be followed by the emerald-green river of Neretva, which prides itself as the coldest river on the planet according to Science Blurtit.

Solo Traveller

Drove from Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina for a day. The views along the way were amazing. The town of Mostar is small but beautiful with historic architecture and rich history. My driver/tour guide, Stefan, from Day Trips was a professional, safe driver and knowledgeable guide. He answered every question and shared so much about this beautiful town and some along the way that my trip exceeded expectations.
